Seat and Parking Selection Overview

JMU Athletics conducts seat and parking selection processes to ensure equitable access to season ticket and parking locations based on Duke Club support. These processes operate differently depending on whether a season is a renewal year or a reseating year. Reseating and reparking occur on a scheduled, four-year cycle, while renewal years allow returning season ticket holders to retain their locations or request upgrades. Across all processes, selection order is determined by Duke Club Rank, which reflects a donor’s accumulated Priority Points.

Duke Club Priority Points & Rank
Duke Club Priority Points are earned through continued support of JMU Athletics, including, but not limited to annual and lifetime giving, season ticket purchases, and consecutive years as a donor. A donor’s total Priority Points determine their Duke Club Rank, which is used to establish the selection order for seats and parking. A priority deadline is the specific date in which Duke Club Priority Points are pulled, as well as a deadline to renew/opt in for tickets. There are several priority deadlines throughout the Athletic calendar in multiple sports.

May 15, 2026: Football Season Ticket Priority Deadline  

July 31, 2026: Football Away Game Ticket Priority Deadline  

Returning Season Ticket Holder and/or Parking Holder
During a renewal year, returning season ticket holders and parking holders may retain their current locations by completing their season ticket renewal and meeting any applicable donation requirements for their parking by the priority deadline. By completing this renewal, all returning season ticket holders will receive a selection time. Season ticket holders who wish to change or upgrade their seats or parking may select from available inventory during their selection time. No action is required for accounts that do not wish to make changes. 

Prospective Season Ticket Holder and/or Parking Holder 
Prospective season ticket holders and those wishing to secure parking must participate in the Entry Process to be considered for available inventory during a renewal year. Entry Process participants receive a selection time based on Duke Club Rank; however, seats and parking are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. Parking is only available to accounts that secure season tickets.  

Reseating Year
During a reseating year, all interested participants—including returning and new season ticket holders—must join the Entry Process to receive a selection time. All participants must also activate their Priority Points and Duke Club Rank by making a current-year Duke Club gift by the applicable priority deadline. In a reseating year, all seat and parking locations are cleared, and selections occur in Duke Club Rank order as of the priority deadline. Selected locations are assigned for the full reseating cycle. 

Selection Assistance
All seat and parking selection processes are conducted online. If an account holder is unable to participate during their assigned selection time, JMU Athletics can select on their behalf using submitted preferences. Preferences must be provided in advance through the Entry Process or by contacting the Athletic Ticket Office. Selections will not be made without preferences on file. 

Financial Policy and Notes
All Duke Club donations, seat contributions, and Entry Process fees are non-refundable. During renewal years, if season tickets are renewed and the required Proud and True Fund donation for a corresponding parking level is established before the priority deadline, current tickets and parking are locked in; otherwise, inventory is not guaranteed. Changes to existing season tickets during renewal years are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Entry Process participation does not guarantee tickets or parking in either renewal or reseating years. Parking is not guaranteed based solely on Proud and True Fund donation level.

What is the annual seat and parking selection process?
The annual seat and parking selection process determines how season ticket holders and new buyers retain, upgrade, or select seat and parking locations. The process differs depending on whether the year is a renewal year or a reseating year. Selection order is based on Duke Club Rank, which reflects Priority Points earned through support of JMU Athletics.

Why does JMU Athletics conduct reseating and reparking every four years?
Reseating and reparking are conducted every four years to provide a fair and equitable opportunity for donors to improve their seat and parking locations. The process rewards sustained financial support and loyalty to JMU Athletics. It also ensures long-term consistency while periodically resetting inventory for competitive access.

How are Duke Club Priority Points and Duke Club Rank used in the selection process?
Duke Club Priority Points are accumulated through annual and lifetime giving, season ticket purchases, and consecutive years as a donor. These points determine a donor’s Duke Club Rank. Rank is used to assign selection appointment times, with higher-ranked donors selecting earlier.

What is the Priority Deadline and why is it important?
A priority deadline is the date by which required season ticket renewals, Entry Process participation, and applicable Duke Club gifts must be completed. Priority Points and Duke Club Rank are finalized based on an account’s status as of this deadline. Missing the deadline may result in loss of eligibility or lower selection priority.

What happens if I miss the Priority Deadline?
Accounts that miss the priority deadline may lose the ability to retain current seats or parking and may not be eligible to participate in the selection process. Entry Process submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. Inventory is not guaranteed for accounts that do not meet all requirements by the deadline. 

Do I need to make a Proud and True Fund gift to participate in seat or parking selection? 
A Proud and True Fund gift is not required to receive a selection time through the Entry Process. However, Duke Club Rank—and therefore selection order—is influenced by giving. Certain parking locations also require a minimum Proud and True Fund donation to be eligible for selection.

Does participation in the Entry Process gaurantee season tickets or parking?
No, participation in the Entry Process does not guarantee access to season tickets or parking. The Entry Process provides a selection appointment, but all selections are subject to availability. Inventory is limited and determined by Duke Club Rank and selection order.

When will I receive my Duke Club Rank and selection appointment time?
Duke Club Priority Points and Rank are calculated after the priority deadline. Selection appointment times are then assigned based on Rank. Notification is typically sent by email within two weeks following the priority deadline.

When will my seat and/or parking assginments be confirmed?
Seat and parking assignments are confirmed after selections are completed, either by the account holder or by JMU Athletics if proxy selection is required. A confirmation email is sent once assignments are finalized. Renewed locations are confirmed only if all requirements are met by the priority deadline.

What if I am unable to select my seats or parking during my appointment time?
If you are unable to select during your appointment, JMU Athletics can select on your behalf using submitted preferences and availability. Preferences must be provided in advance through the Entry Process or by contacting the Athletic Ticket Office. Selections will not be made without preferences on file.

Can I sit or park with the same people as in previous years? 
Yes, if seats or parking locations are available at the time of selection. JMU Athletics cannot accommodate group seating or parking requests across multiple accounts. All selections are made on an individual account basis.

What football season ticket options will be available during selection? 
Available seating may include general reserved seating, chairback seating, club seating, and other premium options. Availability depends on inventory at the time of selection and Duke Club Rank. Not all seating types are guaranteed to be available in every selection window.

What is the minimum donation required for season gameday parking?
Season gameday parking begins at the Paw Level and requires a minimum $75 Proud and True Fund gift. Meeting the minimum donation does not guarantee access to parking. Parking availability is subject to selection order and inventory.

How do I select my parking space?
Eligible accounts will receive an email with their assigned selection time and login information. Parking selection is conducted online through the designated parking selection platform, where available lots can be reviewed in advance. Selection occurs when the assigned appointment window opens. 

Which parking lots have individually assigned spaces?
Individually assigned parking spaces are available only in select lots. These include Champions Deck, F-Lot, G-Lot, P-Lot, C9-Lot, D-Lot, and K-Lot. All other parking locations are assigned by lot rather than by specific space.
