James Madison University Athletics

Mia Garrett joined the JMU Duke Club staff in July 2024 as the Assistant Director of Events and Donor Stewardship. She comes with a unique background of on-campus recruiting and Player and Alumni Engagement for the Virginia Tech Football Team. She has a diverse background in planning events as well as keeping alumni engaged with the University once they graduate.

Garrett received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Minor in Events and Experience Management from Virginia Tech in May 2024. 

Mia Garrett is from Buckingham, VA as her parents and little brother still reside in Buckingham, VA. 
 

Favorite Sport Memory: 
My favorite sports memory is winning the 2021 Collegiate Club Softball World Series in Columbus, GA. My team then returned the following year to become back-to-back National Champions. 

Why JMU: 
I chose JMU for the passionate fan base and winning culture. I knew I wanted to be a part of a community that felt like family. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent JMU Duke Club and to continue building holistic development for our Student Athletes. 

Favorite Spot In Harrisonburg:
So far, my favorite spot in Harrisonburg is Magnolias!
