Madison Giving Day 2016

Get Involved with Athletics and JMU!

On Tuesday, March 15, JMU will be hosting its first University-wide Giving Day. On this day, students, parents, fans, alumni and more will come together and help raise money for JMU. There are many ways to get involved, and we are hopeful that YOU will want to be a part of this special day by giving back to the Duke Club, the fund for student-athlete scholarships and the general athletics operating budget. The goal for the Duke Club on Giving Day is to raise $24,500, the equivalent of one in-state athletics scholarship. To see an up-to-date dollar total, visit givingday.jmu.edu on March 15!

There are two main ways to be an impact on #JMUGivingDay:

Make a gift to the Duke Club that day by visiting givingday.jmu.edu.
Post that you participated and encourage others to do so on your Social Media accounts and use the #JMUGivingDay and #ProudandTrue

Rootin' Rewards
Double Bones Day – On #JMUGivingDay all normal activity can earn you double bones.

1 bone for new money $10-$99
10 bones for new money $100-$999 (usually 5)
20 bones for new money $1,000+ (usually 10)
1 bone for signing up and linking your social media accounts through JMUSocial (jmu.edu/social)
2 bones for social media post (usually 1) – up to 3 Giving Day specific posts will be counted
5 bones for using the #JMUGivingDay image as your profile picture

Check out jmudukeclub.com/BeADuke for an update on many sport-specific experiences that have recently been announced including activities with baseball, softball and a chance to be in the Athletics Director Suite for a 2016 home football game. #JMUGivingDay is the perfect opportunity to earn the bones needed!

Letterwinner Chapter Challenge
We are encouraging all former student-athletes to get involved! For #JMUGivingDay, we will have a Letterwinner Challenge. Sports will compete against each other for the highest percentage of letterwinner giving. The sport with the most alumni participation wins and will receive JMU Athletics gear!. Make a gift and get your teammates to do so as well to prove your sport has the most alumni engagement.

DC25 student members will have the chance to renew their membership or join DC25 on campus on #JMUGivingDay. We will have physical locations at the Commons, the Quad and East Campus from 10am - 2pm. If you renew or sign up on the spot, you will receive our 2016 DC25 tshirt!

Community Vendors
Some community vendors and restaurants have partnered with the Duke Club on March 15 and are donating a percentage of their sales that day to the Duke Club for Giving Day. Visit the following restaurants for your meal in support of the Duke Club.
