Serving as the team behind the teams, the mission of the Duke Club is to aid in the development and delivery of resources to enhance and positively impact the JMU student-athlete experience — preparing Dukes to be champions in sport, in school and in life by: 

Educating alumni, donors, fans and friends of JMU about the importance of philanthropy and the impact of giving on the JMU student-athlete experience; 

Enriching the lives of current and former JMU student-athletes through annual campaigns, membership programs, capital projects and endowed giving; 

Engaging, empowering and providing opportunities for alumni and friends of JMU to get involved through donation of funds and through sharing of their time, experience, and skills to enhance the JMU student-athlete experience. 

The Duke Club encourages and provides opportunities for JMU alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of JMU Athletics to raise unrestricted and restricted funds and resources to enhance the student-athlete experience. The financial support generated through the Duke Club will: 

Support the student-athlete scholarship bill and the student-athlete academic experience; 

Expand recruiting outreach, team operations, and travel opportunities for JMU 18 varsity sport programs; and 

Provide resources and program support for student-athlete training, nutrition, mental health, and personal and professional development. 

Educate and demonstrate how donor dollars are hard at work through the accomplishments of our current and former student-athletes; 

Celebrate the successes of our student-athletes, teams, alumni and donors; 

Provide the highest level of customer service to our donors, members, coaches, student-athletes and community — in-person, by phone or by written communication; 

Deliver membership benefits in a timely and consistent manner; 

Communicate effectively and often with our constituents; and 

Provide quality and memorable event experiences for all donors
