What is your dream job once you complete your studies at JMU?
Work as a public accountant in audit at a big four accounting firm.
When did you find out that you would be receiving a student-athlete scholarship?
Summer before my senior year in high school.
What has it meant to you to be a recipient of a student-athlete scholarship?
I am very grateful for this opportunity to continue my education and my tennis career at such a great institution. Without the scholarship I wouldn’t be able achieve my goals academically and athletically.
If you had the opportunity to meet the donors who provided the funds to support your scholarship, what would you want to say to them?
Thank you so much for allowing me to play my sport at such a high level and make my goal for my young self become a reality.
What has been your favorite part of being a JMU student-athlete?
JMU athletics has allowed me to meet some of my best friends.
What motivates you to give it your all in your sport and in the classroom?
What motivates me is knowing that if all I do is try my best great things will happen.
What do you love most about your team and JMU Athletics?
I love that my team is my own little family here at JMU. We look out after each other and are always there for one another.
Do you have a favorite moment from your experience as a student-athlete? If so, please share!
Being able to be on the same team as my sister the past two years was a very special experience for me.
Do you have any competition/game day traditions or superstitions?
Always take a team picture!
Who is your mentor and, what is the best advice you've received from your mentor?
I would say someone I look up to in tennis is my older sister. She is one of the most hardworking people I know and she always tries to remind me to enjoy every second of my college career.
What advice do you give to other JMU student-athletes to help encourage them during their journey at JMU?
JMU athletics is something very special. You will have some of the best moments competing and being with your team that you will always remember so cherish every minute.
