Record Breaking Fundraising Year
As the fiscal year came to a close, many fundraising records were broken.
  • Unrestricted gifts to the annual fund closed at $4,044,247 which surpassed the previous annual fund record by over $1 million.
  • Total giving topped $5 million ($5,081,405).
  • Donor record number came to 4,695 total donors.

Helmich Explores Career in Sports Marketing Through Harrisonburg Turks Internship
From the moment her uncle began teaching her to play volleyball, Elizabeth Helmich knew she had a future in sports. Now, as she explores opportunities in sports marketing and digital media while training for her junior season with the James Madison volleyball team, Helmich is completing an internship with the Harrisonburg Turks collegiate summer baseball team. Helmich connected with former director of broadcast services for JMU Athletics, Curt Dudley, to set up the internship.

Duke Club Announces Fall Events and Road Trips
As the James Madison football team gets set to open its first season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference on Saturday evening, the JMU Duke Club has finalized plans for multiple fall events, both in Harrisonburg and on the road.

JMU Night at Washington Nationals Ballpark

On July 30th, the National's Ballpark was painted purple by alumni, students, parents, faculty and fans to celebrate this years JMU Night! The first 1,500 fans that purchased a ticket through a special offer received a new limited edition hat.

Meet the Dukes Day!

JMU Athletics kicked off the year with the annual Meet the Dukes Day at Bridgeforth Stadium on August 20th! The interactive event gave fans the opportunity to meet 2022-23 student-athletes by holding on-field activities, games and autograph stations.
