Scooter Renkin


Scooter Renkin came to James Madison in June of 2017 as Assistant Director of Development following a year at NC State's Wolfpack Club.
While at the Wolfpack Club, Renkin was given the opportunity to work in the various phases of athletic development. He assisted with both the major gift and annual fund campaigns, as well as help plan and implement Wolfpack Club events.
 
Renkin received his Masters in Sport Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016. Prior to VCU, Renkin played professional basketball for three years in both Uruguay and Australia. He earned all-league honors in both professional divisions.
 
Upon graduating from Blue Ridge School, Renkin played basketball at James Madison University during the 2008-09 season. After his freshman year he transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. At IUP, Renkin played for an NCAA Division II National Championship and led his team to two Sweet Sixteens. He was an all-conference performer and was named PSAC Scholar Athlete of the Year. Renkin graduated from IUP with a Bachelor of Science degree.
 
Renkin was born in State College, Pennsylvania, but was raised in Midlothian, Virginia. His parents Alan and Diane still reside in Midlothian. He has three older sisters Caroline, Emily and Kelly all of whom were collegiate soccer players.
